Hi,

Everywhere I check, the arduino Uno's power pot is just listed as taking a "2.1mm plug", but every supplier I look at where I'm located (Japan) lists three dimensions (outer diameter, inner diameter, and length) for DC plugs, so I do not know which part to get. Looking at the pot it appears that 2.1mm refers to pole diameter, so I need to know the outer diameter as well. Over here, you can order any size you can imagine....

Unfortunately, I live out in the boondocks and I have to order online, so I don't have the option of simply going to the shop and trying them out.

If anyone knows the correct plug size including all three dimensions, it would make me very happy.

'"Pot" is generally the abbreviation used to mean a potentiometer, which is a 3 terminal variable resistor, where as you obviously meant "connector plug".

Thanks for pointing that out. I must of thought that I'd seen it written that way somewhere. I meant the receiving end though, so not the plug, though the important dimensions of the two are the same.

'Plugs' and 'sockets' mate together to make the external power connection.

"Jack" might also be a term for the female connector. I think I've used the below plug with my arduino. "M" might be the size.

Yea, could be used I guess. I also associated jack with those old 1/4" phone jacks used in telephone switchboards and old hi-fi. Plug and socket seems to be better general term that covers all forms of mate-able connections?
